MediaTek Commits $5 Billion to Custom AI ASICs, Targeting Hyperscale Data Centers

MediaTek approved a $5 billion discretionary financing budget on July 31 to build custom AI accelerator chips for cloud providers, with its first ASIC entering volume production in Q4 2026.
