Munich Court Rules Suno Violated GEMA Copyrights in AI Training, Setting EU Precedent

A Munich Regional Court ruled on July 31 that Suno infringed on GEMA-represented music copyrights by using songs to train its generative model without a license, requiring revenue disclosure and opening a damages calculation. The immediately enforceable ruling is the first EU judgment holding an AI company liable for training-data copyright infringement.
