EU AI Act Digital Omnibus enters force July 27: high-risk deferrals confirmed, August 2 transparency deadline stands

Regulation EU 2026/1744, published July 24 in the Official Journal, defers high-risk AI compliance for standalone systems to December 2027. Article 50 transparency obligations and GPAI enforcement powers, including fines up to 3 percent of global turnover, still activate on August 2 as originally planned.
