Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5 with frontier-level intelligence at half the price of Fable 5

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5 on July 24, its fourth major model in two months, bringing near-Fable-5 performance at $5 per million input tokens. A new per-request effort toggle lets developers dial down cost or up reasoning depth on each API call.
