AegisAI raises $36M to scale autonomous agents against AI-generated spear phishing

AegisAI, founded by veterans of Google security teams, closed a $36 million Series A led by Battery Ventures to expand its fleet of autonomous email defense agents. The company tracks a surge in AI-generated phishing from 2.8 percent to nearly 14 percent of observed attacks in 2025, with AI-crafted emails reaching inboxes at double the rate of human-written attacks.
