Microsoft 365 Copilot auto-enables OpenAI as a subprocessor today, raising EU data questions

Starting today, Microsoft automatically routes Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio traffic through OpenAI infrastructure rather than Azure, unless enterprise admins opt out in the admin center. The change excludes affected data from in-country processing commitments, a compliance concern for EU organizations operating under data residency rules.
