Thinking Machines releases Inkling, its first open-weight model

Mira Murati's lab shipped Inkling, a 975B parameter mixture of experts model trained across text, image, audio and video, betting that enterprises will fine-tune adaptable open models rather than lean on one-size-fits-all frontier systems. It ships with calibrated, uncertainty-aware answers and adjustable thinking effort, tunable through the Tinker platform.
