The Clinician cuts clinical project setup from 42 days to about 3 hours

The team built TC-WIZ, a no-code authoring wizard that turns raw clinical protocols into draft forms, sections and scoring formulas while enforcing the validation, licensing safeguards and audit logging that healthcare requires. Rather than build a model from scratch, they built on a managed platform: Gemini on Google Cloud (the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, formerly Vertex AI), routing tasks between Gemini Pro and Flash to keep the experience responsive, with function calling used to actually edit drafts. The vendor-cited outcomes are strong: median authoring time fell from 42 days to 3.1 hours, customers launched 47 new clinical projects in the first 30 days versus roughly four per month before, and the company reports about 2.1M USD in annualised external-cost savings. The lesson for smaller teams is that the sharpest pattern is not build-vs-buy but both at once: rent the model layer, then build the narrow, well-governed application on top where you own the workflow.
